Florida Wild Life

The Florida wildlife is always amazing.  This lizard when he runs stands up on his back two legs and his neck flares out and he is fast.  It's unnerving to watch.  Then the other day we found a gecko on our stairs.  Ava found it, Wyatt captured it and all was good again.  But then I got to thinking.  At what point did it come into the house?  When I was bringing in groceries, going to get the mail?  Where else has it been and for how long?  Had I passed it before on the stairs?  Several years ago a regular lizard got in the house and I lost him in the Christmas tree.  Wyatt had to come home.

Gator

On a visit to the Loxahatchee Nature Preserve we were able to see a gator haning out under the pier.  He was being lazy, waiting for a fisherman to catch a fish so he could snatch it.  Once the fisherman caught a fish he took off after it and almost got it.  Once he started swimming we could see that this gator was about 5 - 6 feet in length.  The kids got to look at the fish which was a mud fish.  It had a really sharp row of pointy white teeth.  It's mating season for the gators and we could here them calling.  It sounded like a big bull frog.

South Florida Fair

Back in January or February we went to the fair.  This time we decided to try some of the fun fried food.  Our first and last was to try the fried Oreos.  The rest of the fair food was great.  We loved the corn on the cob.
The first ride we went on was the kiddie swings.  Ava was so excited.

Durring the ride she was not so sure she liked it.

A Perfect Day at the Beach

Bonita Springs was a favorite to visit when we lived here before and I couldn't wait to go back.  So this past weekend we took some of our cousins and rented a pontoon boat from our favorite shop and headed out.  My main goal was to take the kids hunting for sea shells.  It's so fun to just motor around the islands though.  We saw lots of Dolphins that day but no Manatee.  The water was quite cool but the day was hot.  We found lots of great shells.  In some spots the the shells were several inches deep.  The kids had so much fun.

Still Unpacking

The house is in functioning order.  Not pretty by any means.  Now it's just a box at a time.  The kids had fun building a box city and filling almost the entire downstairs with packing paper.  Wyatt has been so busy I have been mostly on my own. Did I mention it's in the high 70's.  I am going to power wash the driveway tomorrow.  This weekend we are taking the kids hunting for shells.  Aiden wants to add to his shell collection by taking from mine (they were learning about the letter "s" last week in school and was given a few shells).  I told him he was going to have to build his own collection.  That's all the fun.

if i had a private jet

If I had a private jet we wouldn't have had to drive from Tx to SLC for Christmas spending the night in Albuquerque on our way.

If I had a private jet we wouldn't of driven to Rawlins, WY, had the roads be closed, reroute to Casper, WY, scare our selves half to death, pull over at the Holiday Inn at 2:00 a.m. and wake up to have the roads closed to Denver until 4:00 p.m. that afternoon.

If I had a private jet we wouldn't have had to drive from 4:00 p.m. straight to 12:00 p.m. the next day to reach Little Rock to drop the kids off at Grams then drive another 5 hours to arrive in Dallas at 8:00 p.m.

If I had a private jet we wouldn't be dog tired trying to pack up our house and move the office all on the same day.

Intermission - Awesome going away party with friends that know what it means to be great friends.  Friends for life.

Back to that jet - more tired packing.  this time with Wyatt's help.  Off to by lunch for the movers.  Who is that parking in front of my house?  Awe Heidi, thanks for the cookies.  Sorry you couln't make it last night!  Your family is awesome.  6:00 p.m. my stuff is heading down the street on a big truck.

Intermission - Awesome Christmas party.  We are thankful we had a place to go to dinner.  Far cry from boxed pizza.  Did I mention the prime rib?  Off to the hotel.  No bed at home.

Wish I had that jet - Cleaning day.  More friends stop by to wish us well.  Thanks - we will miss you...
My house smells like poop.  Where is Ava?  .....  She is with Gram.  Oh yeah, Wyatt's painting.  It reaks.  I am shampooing the carpets.  Dang that stain!!

Haven't had lunch today.  Off to return the toll tags.  No toll pass now, have to take the side streets to return the cable modem.  Stop in at the leasing office to drop off the keys... They closed at noon.  Should have called.  I guess I will mail the stuff back.  Now to pick up the tow trailer for the car.  Raining harder now.  I guess we'll eat dinner.

If I had a private jet I wouldn't now be driving 5 hours to get my kiddos.  Thanks Gram for hanging out with them for the past 4 days.  We couldn't have done it otherwise.

If I had that jet I wouldn't have to spend the next two days driving to FL.

If I had that jet I would probably be rich and this would not be my tale.  12 states in two weeks.  Enough said.

Good Bye TEXAS - We'll miss ya'll
